Truth be told I have only heard of this band and never really heard the band’s music. That is, until their last show on on January 8, 2011 at the Partisan in Merced, CA. I got invited to the show by my uncle John Tipton who is also a photographer and has worked for several valley news papers. Needless to say they are (were) a very musically talented band. The place was packed for their fair-well show, maybe even over legal limits =)
The main band was El Olio Wolof.
Also performing that night was Neil Jackson out of San Fransisco and part of Built Like Alaska.
And Willie Tea of The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit from Oakdale, CA.
